My data is in another language. What do I do?

Fear not! Keatext uses state of the art AI technology to translate other languages to English. You don’t need to do anything - Keatext will automatically translate your data upon import. You can still view the Record in the original language, if you choose.

How do I view a Record in the original language?

To see a Record in the original text simply toggle the translation to off.

My data contains mixed languages. Can I upload it directly?

Yes! Your dataset can contain multiple languages. However, each individual record must contain a single language. You cannot have a record that, for example, contains one sentence in English and the next in German. Keatext will detect the language of each record (English, French, Somali etc.) and translate it to English.

Example:

You conducted a bilingual survey to find out if people had a good time at your hotel. Some responses are in French, others in English.

"The hotel was great and we had a lot of fun" => Will be detected as English

"La chambre était parfaite, le déjeuner au-delà de nos attentes" => Will be detected as French and translated to English
